Start Field Label Remapping

Purpose:

This starer function enables the system to accommodate language or custom labeling requirements by replacing the field labels that appear on Data-Basics' SAMPro software screens with the ones that you specify. Note that web and applet screens are not currently affected by this function.

This function also supports changes to labels not directly associated with a field. An example is on the Site's parent Contact tab: the Site Contact 1: label over the contact information block. Click Field Label Remapping for the Site Contact Label for a step-by-step example.

Usage:

This function should be restricted to system-level client users and support.

Relabeling done via this function will be overridden labeling implemented via the Custom Fields functionality.

Usage:

When this function run, it will create or update a dictionary file called 'LabelRemap' that contains the field label replacements that you specify. This file should live in the same directory as the Data-Basics executable, v.exe. 'LabelRemap' is loaded on startup of the Data-Basics software. This file should only be edited by running the Start Field Label Remapping function, and should be backed up on a regular basis.

When you run 'Start Field Label Remapping', the system will display an Open File dialog box, which should already should point to the LabelRemap file in the directory containing the Data-Basics executable, v.exe.
