Registry entries can be used to force certain viewers to start on their filter or screens instead of their list screens. The registry id 'sys-startscreen-filter' is used to control this feature.
Testing Your Registry Entries
The system does not verify the validity of registry entries. Be sure to test your registry entries after completing them to verify that they are functioning correctly.
Id:
The Id of the Registry Entry must conform to one of the following formats:
sys-startscreen-option-usergroupid-branchid-userid
sys-startscreen-option-usergroupid-securityid
sys-startscreen-option-branchid-userid
sys-startscreen-option-securityid
sys-startscreen-option
In all cases, option should be replaced by filter to start at the filter screen, or form to start at a blank record form. Note that if you want some records to start at their filters and some at their forms, you would need to make at least two registry entries (sys-startscreen-filter and sys-startscreen-form).
In the first format, -usergroupid is replaced by the User Group Id you wish to display filtered lists or a blank form. Note that if you also wish to customize for a particular branch, the optional -branchid is replaced by the Branch Id. If this entry is for an individual user, the -userid option would be replaced by the User Id for which you wish to filter lists.
In the second format, -usergroupid is replaced by the User Group Id you wish to display a filter screen or a blank form. Note that if you also wish to customize for a particular security level, the optional -securityid is replaced by the Security Id.
The third format enables you to display a filter screen or blank form by security id and (optionally) user. Note that -branchid is replaced by the Branch Id. If this entry is for an individual user, the -userid option would be replaced by the User Id for which you wish to display a filter screen or blank record. If branches are not implemented, two dashes (not separated by a space) must precede the user id.
The fourth format enables you to display filter screens or blank forms by security. Note that -securityid is replaced by the Security Id.
The fifth format would apply to all users unless another registry entry was created for their group, security id or branch id.
During program execution, the software attempts to find a match for the user that logged on and a sys-startscreen-filter registry entry in the following order:
User Group, Branch and User - User Group and Branch - User Group and Security
User Group Only - Branch and User - Branch Only - Security Id Only
sys-startscreen-option entry with no options
Contents
function1;function2;function3;....
The registry contents is a semi-colon-delimited list of function ids (for example vclntordr;vjb;vprchseordrlst). The functions corresponding to these id's will be started on their filter or form screen if they have one.
Determining the Function Id of a Viewer
To determine the function Id of a viewer, access a record for that viewer, click Help from the menu bar, and choose About this Product. The Function Id will be listed in the information box that is displayed.
Alternatively, the contents can be the single entry all in which case all applicable viewers will be started on their filter or form screens.
Special Note for Work Orders:
To open the Work Order list in filter or form view, the following functions must be specified:
sclrwo
vwrkordr
