Shipping Class Viewer

Purpose:

Create and maintain the shipping classes associated with your inventory items. Both DOT and IATA information is included in this viewer.

Usage:

Referenced by: Inventory Item, Bill of Lading.

Important Fields:

Note: this Help Topic lists the standard configuration of all fields that may be included in this record. If you are using a customized system, the fields displayed on your screen may not exactly match the order or status (required, optional, default, display-only, hidden, etc.) of the fields described in this Topic.

Shipping Class Id: (10 character, only . and - special characters)
A unique Id. This field is required.

Shipping Class Description: (40 character)
A brief description; this field is optional.

DOT:

Shipping Class (4 character)
The Department of Transportation Shipping Class designation (e.g., 60,70, 100, etc). Enter NONE if a DOT Shipping Class designation is not applicable.

Hazardous?
If this shipping class is for materials defined as hazardous, flag this field by double-clicking on it. An x appears in the field when it is flagged.

Hazard Class (4 character)
Enter the Hazard Class (e.g., 3.0, 8.0). Enter 0.0 if this is not a hazardous material.

Non Hazardous Name: (40 characters)
This field is used in conjunction with the Hazardous field. On the Bill of Lading and on the Drum Labels, in the code where the Shipping Name field is printed, the system checks the hazardous flag. If the field is checked, the Proper Ship name will be used. If the box is not checked, print the non-hazardous name instead.

Required Label (40 character)
UN Number: (6 character)
Packing Group: (3 character)
NMFC Number (15 character)
Complete these fields as required by the DOT.

IATA:

Shipping Class (4 character)
The IATA Shipping Class designation (e.g., 60,70, 100, etc). Enter NONE if an IATA Shipping Class designation is not applicable.
